If your bird is exhibiting excessively broody behavior, forms of enrichment are still important, but more attention will be needed in terms of the types of toys provided and how to clean them up after playing with them. For these birds, avoid softer items that can easily be shredded and used as nesting material. Avoid access to areas in the environment that could be used as a nesting site (e.g.: coconut shells or chips for small birds, areas under furniture for larger birds). If toys are used and broken down, remove the pieces from the bottom of the cage to prevent nest building.
