Pesticides and more
I received an email asking if we use pesticides on our products. My first reaction was: "Of course not!" But I quickly realized that this is not so obvious.Because parrots cannot choose their own products in the store, we do it for them, based on our human preferences - which are very different from those of a parrot. We have a preference for shiny, large, processed foods that we then store in airtight jars, simply because the commercial world has prescribed this for years.
Greenparrotshop has chosen to process the products purely and untreated based on their conviction and knowledge. There are plenty of methods available, such as cooling, drying, freeze-drying and storing in the dark.
If we do not store the food as we would with our own fresh products, it quickly becomes clear why pesticides are used. There is a chance that the eggs that were laid on the land during the growth of the plant can hatch. This is not dangerous by the way; your bird will at most get some extra protein.
That shine usually comes from the oil that products are sprayed with, which can actually cause mold because oxygen cannot get to it, which can be harmful to health.
So yes, if we look at what a bird would choose, it will choose pure, healthy and unoiled.
