Feathers turn the bird into a bird ...

Feathers are very important for birds, birds are therefore busy every day with brushing and smoothing the feathers with a wax-like fabric that they get from a gland that comes with the tailbone.
A healthy feather suit is necessary, the bird can keep warm and can escape from predators,
Feathers are supposed to be water-repellent, some shiny, and you can see a beautiful glow in the light.
Feathers are just like hair dead, once damaged it can no longer be repaired, once the feather has unfolded from the shaft and has fully taken on its shape, life goes out, from that moment the condition of the feather also deteriorates and after some time make time for a new spring.
Showering or taking a bath, in nature we see that many parrots regularly sit in the rain or brush the dirt off their feathers in a pool.
We like to give our birds a bath or a shower, it is desirable according to some, but think about the water we drain from the tap, due to the hardness and chemicals used to make it clean and drinkable.
Skin and feather problems often arise when showering your birds, think of your own skin how it feels when you shower yourself. We often provide this with a lotion to hydrate it again. You simply rinse off the important wax layer from the feathers, this layer that they have been working on for so long to keep their feather suit in shape. And not to mention dry skin to where the water can come!
It is better to spray them with a spray of water, the bird can then take exactly the poses that he himself finds best to be cleaned. And thus prevents damage to the feather suit.
